ITINERARY
Day 1
We will dive with cetaceans and other animals, explore the coastal waters of lost islands.
Day 2 - 11
Study of the waters of the islands of Kunashir, Shikotan, Iturup, Urup. Search for cetaceans, freediving, landing on islands.
Urup Island
Urup Island is the fourth largest island of the Kuril archipelago. We will land on it to feel like real Robinsons among the picturesque landscapes.
Fishing enthusiasts can go fishing in the river. The rest will take a walk along the shore in search of treasures. You never know what the ocean might bear.
We are unlikely to find the pirate treasure. But the probability of finding an old Japanese float in the form of a glass ball is very high.
After a short walk, you will have the opportunity to swim in the hot sulfur springs. There is so much sulfur here that the bathtub, rising above the ocean shore, is bordered with yellow.
Kunashir Island. Cape Stolbchaty. Golovninsky cliff
Cape Stolbchaty is composed of layers of basaltic lavas from the Mendeleev volcano with well-defined columnar separation in the form of pentagonal and hexagonal columns. As a result of wave erosion, the massif of volcanic rocks is gradually destroyed, as a result of which the cape is a picturesque sheer cliffs up to 40-50 m high, jutting into the Kunashir Strait with several ledges. Gradually, the rocks are destroyed, forming screes of stone "pillars" at the foot.
The Golovninsky Cliff is a long miraculous wall with waterfalls on the Pacific side of the Kuril Island Kunashir. It stretches from Cape Puzanov to the mouth of the Belozerka River. Translated from English, cliff means "coast cliff".
Iturup Island. Lion's Mouth Bay (Lion's Mouth volcano), Ilya Muromets Waterfall
Lion's Mouth is a volcano located in the southwestern part of Iturup Island in the Kuril Ridge.

The volcano received its modern name in 1946 at the suggestion of the Soviet geographer Yu. K. Efremov.
The caldera-forming eruption of this volcano is one of the largest volcanic events that occurred on the Kuril Islands at the turn of the late Pleistocene and early Holocene. As a result of this powerful eruption, a caldera with a diameter of about 9 km and a depth of about 1 km was formed.
The volcano's caldera is filled with the waters of the Sea of Okhotsk and forms the Lion's Mouth bay (bay) of the same name. A shallow strait about 5 km wide on the northwestern side of the volcano connects the caldera basin and the Sea of Okhotsk. In the strait there is a small rocky island called Kamen-Lev, which is a fragment of the edge of the caldera protruding from the sea. This island, which looks like a lying lion, gave its name to the volcano.

Ilya Muromets is the highest waterfall in the Far East. Located on the island of Iturup. Height: 141 meters. The discoverers gave it the name of an epic hero to emphasize the power of the waterfall.
Shikotan Island. Cape World's End
The End of the World - a cape in the northeast of Shikotan Island
It is a rock that extends far into the waters of the Pacific Ocean and drops down 50 meters.

The distance to the next land in the southeast direction is about 5400 km. In good weather, from the cape you can observe the mountains and volcanoes of the neighboring islands of Kunashir and Iturup.

Cape World's End itself can be observed from the side from Cape Crab, which is the easternmost point of the island.

In order to approach its ledges, you need to cover a distance of about 10 km on foot.

ADDITIONAL PROGRAM
ITURUP ISLAND
14 - 15 JUNE, 27 - 28 JUNE, 2024
Day 1 / Yanquito Lava Plateau. Jeep tour to the Pacific Ocean in Kasatka Bay. Hot Springs
Iturup is the largest island of the Kuril archipelago. There are 9 active, 7 extinct and 4 supposed volcanoes, as well as many waterfalls. Most of the island's territory is covered with bamboo thickets, which, combined with the difficult terrain, makes moving around it very difficult. The island's calling card is bears; about 1,500 of them live here, so it is strictly forbidden to go far from the group!

In the morning we go to the Yanquito plateau with a very unusual coastline in the form of bizarre piles of rocks formed by frozen volcanic lava.
Then we go to Kasatka Bay, from where the Japanese carrier squadron and support ships set out to defeat Pearl Harbor during World War II. We'll take a jeep ride along the Pacific Ocean, look at the bay, fenced by mountain ranges, and walk along its shores.

In the evening we will swim in the thermal springs of the water and health complex "Vannochki". The fonts are filled with natural water from a depth of 440 meters and a self-spouting temperature of 46°C. It is not recommended to stay in the water for more than an hour.
Day 2 / Yanquito Lava Plateau. Jeep tour to the Pacific Ocean in Kasatka Bay. Hot Springs
We get into the jeeps and go to Prostor Bay. Black and White rocks are incredibly beautiful and unique creations of nature. Black rocks are extrusive lava outcrops of basaltic volcanic rocks. White ones are pumice. These places are considered one of the most famous natural monuments of the Sakhalin region. We will see kilometers of bizarre rocks with green caps of herbaceous vegetation, white quartz sand mixed with black titanium-magnetite sand, and all this on the seashore with emerald-colored water.

We will go trekking through a small canyon, and after lunch we will visit new thermal springs in the "Hot Waters" complex. The water here has a different composition and temperature.
