- 1Get a hug on the whale!Each year gray whales march south along the coast of North America toward the Gulf of California, where they mate and give birth. This spectacle attracts whale enthusiasts from all over the world to Mexico. Gray whales are some of the friendliest whales, coming close to boats, laying their heads on the side, letting people touch, hug, scratch and kiss them! Normally we don't touch wild animals, but these giants seem to enjoy this attention from humans and spend a lot of time near boats.

Puerto San Carlos is a tiny town of fishermen: we'll stay in a cozy and colorful hotel, try Mexican food and seafood, communicate with locals (you should learn some words in Spanish, because almost nobody speaks English!) and enjoy the incredible sunrises and sunsets in the ocean! - 3Let's head out into the open ocean in search of billfish and humpback whalesOur fall expedition to Mexico showed us that there are many interesting marine animals here! We may encounter humpback whales, giant schools of moray whales, marlins, harbor seals and many other pelagic animals.
Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico. Flight to La Paz. Transfer to the fishing village of San Carlos (about 3.5 hours). On the way look for cacti, look for pitaya, and take pictures! In the evening check in to the hotel, briefing. Tomorrow early for our first day in the ocean - we need a good rest :)
Day 2 - 6
We will spend these 5 days at the iconic Bahia Magdalena, where we will go out to sea in search of gray whales. Bahia Magdalena is a famous place to watch the giants of the sea in the Gulf of California. Here the whales feel at ease and come very close to the boats. This will be an unforgettable day for everyone on the expedition!
We will also go out into the ocean in search of other whales and underwater animals. The ocean here is very rich: humpback whales, dolphins, moray eels, harbor seals, and marlins! And sometimes there are killer whales and blue whales! Every day we will go out into the ocean at sunrise and come back closer to sunset, because we don't want to miss a second:)

Day 7
Fly to Mexico City and fly home.
