WHAT WAITS FOR US?
Swimming with humpback whales and life on a desert island
What makes Tonga special is that this is where the migration route of humpback whales from Antarctica begins, where females give birth and raise their calves, and where you can swim with these giants at a distance of five meters directly in the open ocean - Tonga is considered the best place in the world for this!

This program has a few special features:

  • we will live among the jungle on the Pacific Ocean in an exclusive eco-hotel on a small lost island where there are practically no people!
  • Uoleva Island in the Ha'apai Archipelago is located far away from the popular tourist islands of Tonga, so we will hardly meet any other boats in the ocean and will be alone with the whales.
  • Our instructor-guide will be Erez Beatus (famous freediving instructor and underwater photographer), Erez is very protective of the whales, that's why we are working on Tonga with him.
  • In the mornings you will have a Yoga session from Erez or his wife Allegra.
ITINERARY
Day 1
Fly from Tongatapu to Ha'Apai by local airlines. We meet you at Ha'apai airport. Transfer from the airport to the pier (20 minutes).
We are met by our boat and we go straight to the whales! So get your masks and flippers ready! After getting to know the whales, we get to our island by 4pm where we check into our hotel. In the evening we are waiting for dinner, discussion of plans for the week and impressions from the first meetings with whales, long-awaited sleep.

The plan for this day may change depending on the time of the internal flight.
Day 2-3
At 07:15 our guide Erez or his wife Allegra will lead a light yoga session every morning (participation is optional).

At 08:15 breakfast awaits us (you can order granola, fruit, scrambled eggs, pancakes or all together).

At 09:15 we gather on the beach and board our boat, on which we will have to spend the whole day looking for whales. We divide into 2 subgroups of 4 people and take turns diving to the whales, as we try not to disturb the whales in large groups and local laws do not allow more than 4 people (plus guide) in the water with the whales.

At about 13:00 we have a small lunch on the boat or on a desert island. .

At 16:00 we return to the hotel, rest and at 19:00 a hearty candlelight dinner awaits us.

In the eco-hotel electricity and internet do not work round the clock, so we can charge our photo equipment and laptops in the morning, before dinner, and also in the afternoon, leaving spare batteries to charge while we are at sea.
Day 4
Sunday is an official day off in Tonga and it is forbidden to work. So we have a day off too. But not all day!
In the morning, everyone is welcome to join the hotel staff for a boat ride to a neighboring island to attend mass at a Catholic or Protestant church to listen to the delightful chants of the parishioners. We will also stop for lunch with the locals.

After lunch, we will venture into the island's authentic jungle where we will learn about the legends surrounding the ancient local structures, the pyramids, as well as learn how to eat new to us parts of long familiar coconuts.
